Istituto Marangoni Dubai Launches Fashion Mentorship Program with Sabrina Mandelli
Istituto Marangoni Dubai announces the launch of an immersive fashion mentorship program led by Sabrina Mandelli, Founder and Creative Director of SSHEENA, to empower students with hands-on guidance across multiple facets of the fashion industry.
Sabrina Mandelli, an alumna of Istituto Marangoni Milano, brings extensive experience from leading fashion houses like Dolce&Gabbana and Off-White. As the Creative Director of SSHEENA, Mandelli is renowned for her innovative approach to design and her commitment to redefining industry standards.
From 20 to 21 May, Mandelli led an intensive mentorship program across Fashion Design, Fashion Styling and Fashion Business at Istituto Marangoni Dubai. The mentorship is designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of the industry, from creative concept development to strategic business planning.
Under Mandelli’s expert guidance, students will embark on a creative journey exploring the intersection of fashion history and current trends. Inspired by iconic figures such as Greta Garbo and Sid Vicious, students will reimagine these influences into shoe designs and capsule collections.
The mentorship challenges students to push boundaries, encouraging them to experiment with materials, textures and aesthetics to create their own fashion statements. Through personalized feedback and mentorship sessions, Mandelli will nurture students’ creativity and craftsmanship, preparing them for the dynamic world of fashion design.
In the Fashion Styling component, students will conceptualize fashion narratives fit for prestigious events like the Met Gala, testing their ability to fuse tradition with innovation. Under Fashion Business, students will develop marketing strategies including digital marketing, budgeting, logistics and PR initiatives, for SSHEENA-curated events that challenge conventions and captivate audiences.
The mentorship culminates with a showcase of students’ work, providing a platform to demonstrate their creative vision. The collaboration between Istituto Marangoni Dubai and Sabrina Mandelli comes as part of the Institute’s mission to foster talent and innovation within the fashion industry through hands-on experiences and mentorship initiatives.
