Abu Dhabi Gathers Global Experts and Officials at the First Social Care Forum Next Week
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 25 September 2024: The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) has announced the agenda for the first edition of Social Care Forum 2024, a landmark event scheduled from 2-3 October 2024 in Abu Dhabi. Organized in partnership with Deloitte Middle East, the forum is themed “Enhancing Innovation and Collaboration in Social Care,” reflecting the pressing need to rethink and advance community supporting strategies.
This inaugural event will bring together a significant group of thought leaders, policymakers, service providers, and innovators—each dedicated to shaping the future of social care both globally and locally. The forum is expected to draw a diverse audience and create a dialogue for the future trends of Social Care systems.
Among the distinguished speakers are Her Excellency Shamma Al Mazrui, UAE Minister of Community Development; His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of DCD Abu Dhabi; Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai; Sir Geoff Mulgan, a renowned professor from University College London with a passion for social innovation; and Anjan Ghosh, Director of Singapore’s National Council of Social Service.
For two days, the forum will highlight the latest trends in social care. These discussions will cover how global developments affect the future of services, strategies to attract and retain talent in the social sector, and new innovations, that focus on family wellbeing and the transition from conventional to digitalising social care.
The first day will highlight the UAE’s innovative approach towards social care, emphasizing collaboration and the latest global trends in service delivery. Speakers will explore how we can empower individuals and communities worldwide and the crucial role of integrating social care with healthcare to enhance overall quality of life.
The second day will focus on the importance of building a skilled workforce and the new innovations emerging within the social sector in the UAE. Participants will also tackle global challenges facing the social care workforce and discuss how collaboration can drive the future of social services, ensuring a lasting impact on society.
The forum will also be an interactive platform for collaboration, learning and networking, in addition to hosting workshops, and exhibitions designed to share the latest tools and strategies for improving social services. As well as the forum’s exhibition for further personalised in depth access and experience.
Topics such as, the benefits of digital platforms, the evolving nature of social work, and recent trends in professional development will be some of the main discussions at the forum.
