The Emirates Digestive Diseases Week (EDDW) 2025, a premier event in gastroenterology, was successfully convened from April 25–26 at Dubai’s Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan Hotel. Organized in partnership with Mediclinic Middle East and executed by iConference, the conference drew over 1,200 healthcare professionals, fostering dialogue on groundbreaking advancements in digestive health and underscoring the transformative power of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in patient care.

The program featured internationally accredited scientific sessions endorsed by leading global institutions, including the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). Key themes encompassed state-of-the-art endoscopy methodologies, artificial intelligence applications in diagnostic innovation, and novel therapeutic approaches for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). A specialized practical training workshop for nursing professionals further emphasized the necessity of multidisciplinary teamwork in contemporary healthcare delivery.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Hein van Eck, Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Middle East, lauded the event as a landmark achievement. He reiterated the organization’s resolute dedication to advancing medical education and commended the organizers for orchestrating an exemplary conference of exceptional caliber.

Dr. Ali Al Fazari, Chairman of EDDW 2025 and Medical Director at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, remarked: “This conference serves as a catalyst for elevating patient outcomes by spotlighting pioneering innovations in gastroenterology and strengthening synergies among healthcare experts.”

Dr. Mazin Al Jabiri, CEO of EDDW 2025 and Head of Gastroenterology at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, added: “By attracting global thought leaders to the UAE, we are committed to delivering world-class treatments domestically, reducing the necessity for patients to pursue medical care overseas.”

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Jacques Kobersy, Chief Medical Officer of Mediclinic Middle East, delivered a commemorative address celebrating the remarkable strides in gastroenterology across the organization. He reaffirmed Mediclinic’s mission to drive clinical and academic excellence, personally honoring distinguished speakers and attendees with certificates of recognition.

EDDW 2025 stands as a testament to the UAE’s leadership in the global medical arena. By setting new benchmarks in digestive health care, the event reinforces the nation’s role as a nexus for medical innovation, collaboration, and excellence, further solidifying its reputation as a destination for cutting-edge healthcare solutions.
