Abu Dhabi, UAE – 26 August 2026: ADCOOP, the grocery retail arm of MAIR Group PJSC, announced the opening of a new store at Makani Shakhbout Community Center (“Makani Shakhbout”) in Abu Dhabi. The official opening ceremony will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, 27 August 2026. The opening will expand ADCOOP’s retail network to 101 stores and bring its retail offering closer to residents of Shakhbout City and surrounding communities.
Shakhbout City is a growing family-oriented residential community, supported by continued infrastructure development and improved connectivity to Musaffah, Zayed International Airport and other key destinations. The new store further expands access to convenient everyday retail for residents across the area.
A Broad Everyday Offering for Shakhbout Families
The store offers a comprehensive assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, bakery and roastery, health and beauty, cosmetics, household products, small appliances, organic and specialty foods and everyday groceries. Spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, the store has been designed as a modern, family-focused retail destination, combining broad product choice with easy access to key categories for a convenient shopping experience.
Located at Makani Shakhbout, the store serves as a key retail anchor within a wider community destination offering restaurants and cafés, specialty retail, pharmacy, money exchange and other lifestyle and essential services, supported by more than 200 parking spaces.
Supporting Local Supply and Community Needs
The new store will continue ADCOOP’s support for UAE farmers and local producers, offering locally produced fresh fruits and vegetables across its fresh food range. Customers will also have access to a dedicated selection of products under the Abu Dhabi Citizens’ Food Products Program. Opening celebration will also include children’s activities and live entertainment, along with a five-day traditional souq providing local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase and sell their products, celebrating UAE heritage while supporting home-grown businesses.
AED 2 Million in Opening Offers and Customer Value
To celebrate the launch, ADCOOP has allocated approximately AED 2 million towards promotional offers and customer value initiatives, with special opening offers available across selected categories from the first day.
The opening also coincides with ADCOOP’s Back-to-School campaign, supporting families as they prepare for the new academic year. As part of the campaign, ADCOOP has allocated AED 5 million to offers on school essentials and everyday products through its stores and online platform.
Customers spending AED 250 will have the opportunity to win AED 5,000 in shopping vouchers, with 10 winners to be selected. Members of “PLUS”, ADCOOP’s loyalty program, can also benefit from exclusive offers and an opportunity to win one of ten 24-karat gold coins.
