South Indian International Movies Awards (SIIMA) 2023 in Dubai
The biggest movie awards show South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA)is back to celebrate the best of South Indian Cinema. For the third time SIIMA is returning to Dubai, since its inception in 2012.
SIIMA has completed 11 fabulous years of recognizing the talent from the 4 South Indian Film Industries by organizing shows in international destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. SIIMA has been the biggest draw for fans and audiences of South Indian Cinema Globally.
As the South Indian films in 2022 broke the language barrier and have become national hits with films like RRR, KGF, Kantara, Vikram and PS1; SIIMA 2023 is going to have a strong contenders list.
A press conference was held today, with Rana Daggubati, Mrunal Thakur, and Brinda Prasad Chairperson SIIMA, Vishal Mahajan Director Truckers, the official host partner for SIIMA 2023 in Dubai were in attendance along with other SIIMA officials and dignitariesat Habtoor Palace Dubai.
Brinda Prasad, the Chairperson of SIIMA quoted that “We are excited to be back in Dubai for hosting South India’s most prominent awards that celebrate the very best of South Indian Cinema at a global stage. UAE with its large Indian population, is the perfect venue for the event and has always been very welcoming. SIIMA has always been the event of the year that the entire South Indian Film Industry looks forward to and this year too it will be a grand affair with a galaxy of stars.”
Vishal Mahajan Director of Truckers, Official Host Partner of SIIMA 2023said that although UAE has been the favorite country for SIIMA Awards, this year’s SIIMA is going to be special. Truckers will use local flavor and advanced technologies at SIIMA to take the audience to be in a different world. The South film industry and other celebs will huddle under one roof to celebrate the gems of South cinema. The event will be hosted in a grand manner in Dubai.
Renownedactor Rana Daggubati said “I am extremely delighted to be associated with SIIMA for 2023,SIIMA brings together the entire south film fraternity and it is an amazing feeling to celebrate south cinemas.”
Actress Mrunal Thakur said “I am happy to be part of SIIMA just after my debut in Telugu Film, Sita Ramam. I have received immense love from South India. This is the best time to be a part of Indian cinema because story telling is truly taking a global approach. I am looking forward to performing at the Global Stage of Siima in UAE”.
Stalwarts from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam film industries are going to walk the red carpet and are expected to perform in front of the Dubai crowd.
The nominations for the 11th edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) will be out soon.
The two-day extravaganzawill take place on 15th& 16thof September at DWTC, Dubai.The event promises to bring together the finest talents in South Indian cinema, delivering a grand celebration of music, dance, comedy, and wholesome entertainment.
